As a musician for hire, Zoe Robertson’s work has allowed her to peek behind the curtain of countless genres. Over time, the years of symphonic repertoire, folk sessions, chamber music, punk rock, gypsy jazz, classical solo repertoire, world music, indie collaborations, and experimental improvisation have begun to come together to produce a delicate fusion of styles. Drawing inspiration from the technical intricacy of the classical world and the unique flavors of contemporary popular music, Robertson seeks to find and explore the common ground between the different genres that have built her experience.
With collaboration firmly at the centre of her creative interest, Robertson routinely seeks out projects that combine different art forms with music. Currently, in addition to recording her first set of songs, Robertson is working with Vancouver-based dancers to create a series of collaborative videos.
Bringing more than a decade of professional performance experience to her projects, Robertson is keen to translate her original work to the recorded format.
